some Time ago
I found there was a Problem in the Cisco operating system (IOS).
I had to update the Operating System I want to try the new method through the USB.
After the throes of a long time with the routers (C880) discovered a problem in the operating system was the only solution is to update.
There are Many Solution To transfer the copy of IOS to the router, including telnet and the TFTP.
But I have a USB slot in the router so I dont need other Solution
so I did, first copy the new operating system to the USB and then you type the following command to transfer system from the USB stick to the router:
Router#copy usbflash0:c880data-universalk9-mz.152-1.T1.bin flash:
Then we find the copy process has begun to the router as shown in the next picture
Our next step is the most important step to make a router booting from the new system through the following command:
Router(config)#boot system flash c880data-universalk9-mz.152-1.T1.bin
Finally we do the save settings and reboot a router and ended up
sure our Tips was not finished, I would like to refer to some points on the USB.
- Cisco began to support the USB on The routers with the following strings:
800, 1800, 2800.3800
- The USB must be based on the FAT32 File system because the operating system IOS not supporting the NTFS
- Usually USB 2.0 not USB 1.0
- Some commands are useful with the USB,
show usb device
show usb controllers
show usb driver
show usb port
